Don Efraín “Macho” Naranja has spent more than four decades cultivating coffee in Costa Rica. His journey began at just fourteen years old when his father gifted him a small piece of land, sparking a lifelong passion for coffee. In 2004, after years of dedication, Don Efraín took over the farm and, together with his son, began modernizing their approach to coffee production.
Located at 1,900 meters in Santa Rosa de León Cortés, Finca Macho became the foundation of their family-operated micro-mill, Santa Rosa 1900. Through careful cultivation and a commitment to quality, the farm has earned recognition both nationally and internationally, including multiple appearances in the Cup of Excellence. This Catuai lot reflects the experience, dedication, and family stewardship that continue to define Don Efraín’s work today.
